Draft King Analysis

The Jags were seriously hurt by the U.S. District Court's decision to bar Maurice Clarett, Mike Williams and company from the draft, as this is the spot where they likely would've taken Mike Williams. Instead they get a different Williams: Reggie, who had a solid career at the University of Washington. The fact that Jacksonville traded WR Kevin Johnson to the Ravens speaks volumes about what the team expects from Williams from a productivity standpoint.

Daryl Smith in Round 2 was a nice pickup (buoyed by Cordova one round later). Greg Jones at #55 is most interesting, as apparently Jacksonville doesn't want to roll the dice on Fred Taylor actually having back-to-back healthy seasons. Can you blame them?

Overall, while this wasn't one of those drafts that jumps out at you, it was done intelligently and filled needs for the team without making too many stretches.
