Subject: more Browns

You raise some valid points, but some of them need to be refuted.
Dennis Northcut: 729 yards, 2 TDs
Andre Davis: 576 yards, 5 TDs
Quincy Morgan: 516 yards, 3 TDs

Yes, those were their stats, however, with a revolving QB situation and no OL all year, whoever was QB had no time to throw to their WR's. If you look back at the Browns Playoff year, their stats were better.
Andre Davis- 37 420 11.4 6 TD's 2002
Andre Davis 40 576 14.4 5 TD's 2003- Davis actually improved a little bit, I would expect a breakout year from him

Quincy Morgan 56 964 17.2 7 TD's 2002
Quincy Morgan 38 516 13.6 3 TD's 2003- Yes a big drop of here, but his hands were terrible and the QB situation I believe Was the real cause here

Dennis Northcutt 38 601 15.8 5 TD's
Dennis Northcutt 62 729 11.8 2 TD's- Yes, more catches, but really less production, because teams were actually watching for him that year.

Once the QB and OL sit gets settled, I believe we will be fine. Now about Shawn Andrews and the Potential Trade Down

First, I believe the Browns will not pick Andrews at the 7 spot, because of his weight, and he is a RT not a LT, The Browns need a LT and I doubt Andrews would be effective there.

Now would the Browns trade down with the steelers? No, and here is why, do you really want to give your archrival a QB who potentially could torment you for years in the AFC NORTH? No, I don't think so. I could actually see the Browns grabbing him to develope behind Garcia. NO WAY will they trade with the steelers, unless the deal is really... really.... sweet, like 2 first rounders and a 2nd
The 49ers are a more likely trade partner

Lou: Interesting retort, Jon. We'll see how Davis, Morgan and Northcutt do with Jeff Garcia as the Browns' starting QB.

Your point about Shawn Andrews, however, seems to refute your initial argument about why Cleveland should trade down to get him. If you feel that his weight is a problem, and that he can't make the transition from RT to LT, then is Cleveland really better off in trading down to get him?

I don't think the 49ers can afford to pay what it would take to trade up from #7 to #16. A more likely set of circumstances would be Cleveland trading down (say to Jacksonville at #9), then perhaps trading down again (Buffalo at #13) and then finally one more time down to San Francisco at #16. That's how I'd approach it if I had the #7 pick but wanted to move down. One huge leap might be too big of a bill for the 49ers (with all of their needs) to pay.
