your draft makes a lot of sense but..

the pats have a few players docket size but for 3-4 replacemment for ted washington we have better on roster already than dockett. we wil go lb there and a big 3-4 nose guard fattie later in draft. are starting ends seymour 6-6 310 and ty warren (2004) 6-4 308 are good size so a 280lb nose guard wont be a 1st round pick for pats.

i like you others alot but will smith is overated and clayton wont go over rashuan woods no way

Lou: Point taken on Dockett... Warren was drafted last year and given something very rare for a defensive tackle -- a year to learn. Quite often, DTs are expected to step in and learn immediately.

While it will be quite tough for the Patriots to replace Washington's production on the line, Warren should be able to produce in the 3-4. With Dockett, I look at it as a potential case of the Pats taking the "best player available" (DT depth is always good to have). Though it is more likely that the Pats would add a linebacker, or a WR like Rashaun Woods, at #32 (especially if they didn't snag a LB at #21).

As for Clayton vs. Woods, we'll see who goes where. I personally really like Woods and think he will be a great pro. But Clayton is very highly touted, even after a so-so combine, and I think he'll go higher... even though I don't think he'll necessarily be a better pro in the long run.

First off, nice site, I think you're one of the few sites that updates daily, and I appreciate that. Now, as a devout Titans fan I was shocked when I first heard they traded McCareins. However, I'm not shocked that they got a higher pick for him than the 49ers did for Owens (young and no baggage vs. older and baggage). Having said that, what do you think of this scenario: The Titans trade up with the Redskins to get Kenechi Udeze, giving up their 1st rounder and the 2nd rounder they got from the Jets. I find this very possible because the Redskins have I believe one or two picks only. Thanks!

Lou: If the Titans can pull that trade off, then Tennessee GM Floyd Reese should be the NFL's general manager of the year. The Titans have picks #27, #42 and #57. Even if they were to deal all three picks (as opposed to just #27 and #42 as you proposed), I highly doubt that Washington would give up that #5 overall selection. That's a long, long way to drop.

The Redskins, by the way, have their first rounder, and may or may not end up with their fifth rounder. That will depend on if the St. Louis Rams match the Redskins' offer sheet signed by Rams CB Jerametrius Butler; if the Rams decline to match, they would receive the Redskins' fifth rounder (#134 overall) as compensation.

Following the Justin McCareins trade, The Tennessean newspaper quoted Floyd Reese as saying that the trade could allow the Titans to move up in the draft. I could see the Titans sliding up to #17 with the Bengals if either DT Vince Wilfork or Randy Starks are still on the board, but moving up to #5 would cost a king's ransom from the #27 spot.

There's also the possibility that Ohio State DE Will Smith will slip. If not, the Titans might end up snagging Virginia Tech Center Jake Grove with their first rounder, then hope someone like Marquise Hill from LSU is there at #42 (or just take Hill outright at #27). Alabama DE Antwan Odom at #27 is not outside the realm of possibility if he's still available.

Hey Lou , I'm a BROWNS fan and have the same thoughts as you. I think all three of the players that are immediate needs for the BROWNS will be gone too. S.Taylor ,Winslow ,Gallery should all be gone by pick six. So what to do , there's an obvious answer ,take the best player. I wouldn't trade down for one reason , the BROWNS need a star. M.Williams is a good starting point to upgrade that quality ,(STAR) quality. Players like him start a buzz , LeBRON ring a bell . If anyone questions this young man's speed , talent , maturity or anything else about him there crazy. Thank you for at least giving fans a chance to look at a mock draft with M.Williams name next to the CLEVELAND BROWNS. If you get a chance when you update your draft again ,try to put 2 or 3 rounds in.

Lou: Mike Williams to the Browns makes so much sense in so many ways. There are friends of mine who are convinced that Williams is the best WR in the draft -- even better than Larry Fitzgerald. With Jeff Garcia Cleveland-bound, having someone like Williams in there makes all the more sense.

As for the multiple rounds, I would like to add more. Perhaps I'll be able to do that soon. It's much more time consuming that way, though, as every change made has a ripple effect that goes all the way to the end. But it also provides a bigger picture on things...
