Tell me what you think about this mock i made up.

1rd CB Antrell Rolle MIAMI

2rd OG David Bass MICHIGAN

3rd DT C.J. MOSLEY MISSOURI

4RD S JOSH BULLOCKS NEBRASKA

Now i know this might not happen or come close , but i was reading Sporting News Draft mag. that just came out and it says the DT C.J. is a 3rd guy and S Josh Bullocks is a 4rd guy but this would probley be a good draft if this could happen but not likly. Tell what you think.please And what other free agents do you think the Lions could pick up if any?

Lou: It's hard to say if Antrel Rolle will be on the board at #10. He could go as high as the Top 5 or as low as #15. Odds are it'll be somewhere in-between, but I think the Lions will go for OT over CB. With right OT Stockar McDougle gone via free agency, the team needs someone who can step in right away, and if he's there I think Florida St. OT Alex Barron will be drafted and given a shot to start for Detroit.

As for David Bass, that's not a bad pick. I'd think the second round would be the spot for the Lions to add another CB (maybe LSU CB Corey Webster?), but Bass certainly would fit the bill for the offensive guard position.

C.J. Mosley going in round three to Detroit is a reasonable pick. While Mosley is very athletic and almost in the Travis Johnson mold of a DT that can disrupt the pocket, he will need to work on his technique and on not being overaggressive, leaving holes open on playaction fakes, etc. There's a generation of DTs coming up who saw Warren Sapp in his prime, and while Sapp had the ability to usually cover for misreads while chasing the QB, most guys can't do that. But having him to sub in on obvious passing downs should help the defensive interior stay a bit fresher and also provide additional heat to the QB. This is a draft that is weak on DT talent so Mosley might be gone by Detroit's pick, but since Mosley came out as a Junior he might slip (this happens sometimes to DTs who come out early).

The most unlikely of this quartet to be there when Detroit is on the clock is S Josh Bullocks. Bullocks shouldn't last beyond round two, and his 4.46 speed combined with great coverage and big play ability will tempt some team to take him. But with Detroit having Terrence Holt ready to move into the starting lineup, it's no big deal. This is where I'd look for a young TE to land to backup Marcus Pollard (who is good, but also 33 years old). Since Steve Mariucci doesn't use the tight end like most west coast offenses do, he doesn't have to look for a great receiving threat. Maybe they'll get lucky and someone like Boston College TE Dave Kashetta might be on the board who can fill the blocking TE role.

As for other free agents, the Lions might look for a veteran receiver who can come in during certain situations and make some catches. Not a big name, but someone on the cheap who can play well when needed.

Subject: Why do you keep changing the cowboys pick?

I have seen you go from lb to wr back to lb .just wondering is this all speculation or do you have some kind of inside source . And what are the chances that Mike Willams will fall to the 11 spot or even Derrick Johnson ?

Lou: I keep changing the pick due to what I project teams doing in the 1-10 spots. Dallas could use a good WR, but also they could use a good LB and a solid DE. I find it highly unlikely at this point that Mike Williams will fall to #11, but there is a chance that Troy Williamson will be there. The quandry that Dallas faces is: should Williamson be taken there, or should one of the elite DE or OLB/DEs be selected?

Derrick Johnson is a possibility to fall, particularly if a Cleveland/Minnesota trade goes down. The Cowboys should be beyond thrilled if DJ is on the board, though Arizona at #8 could potentially play the role of spoiler.

Subject: #1 San Diego

This is a speculation based off of NFL Network.
If San Francisco trades their #1 for Philip Rivers.
Do you think San Diego would go WR at #1 with either Williams or Edwards.
What other needs does San Diego have? And who would they take at #12?

Lou: Last night's SportsCenter had a big rumor-buster on this story. ESPN reported that there's no way this trade would go down, as San Diego just made a large payment to Rivers on his contract and San Francisco believes that this year's top five players are superior to last year's top five (which included Rivers). So forget about that one.

For what it's worth, if San Diego had the choice, I think they'd take Braylon Edwards, though I believe that Mike Williams is actually the superior prospect (the guy drops NOTHING).

When do you think Ohio State kicker Mike Nugent will be selected and which team do you think needs him the most?

Lou: You might see Nugent go in the second round, considering that Nate Kaeting went in early round three in 2004 and Nugent is a superior prospect. Teams I've heard mentioned as possibly being interested in Nugent include Minnesota, Tennessee, San Francisco and Buffalo.

Buffalo is draft-pick starved, so I don't see them biting. Tennessee has too many needs to be addressed early in the draft to go for Nugent early. That seems to leave Minnesota and San Francisco. Don't be surprised if Minnesota takes Nugent at #49... or if the Vikings trade down (probably no further than #56, just in case the New York Jets have ideas of potentially taking Nugent at #57) and take Nugent. Another possibility is San Francisco snagging Nugent at the top of Round 3 (#65 overall).
