Pretty good mock draft....its always hard to tell this early in the season. But the only thing I noticed it that Zack Miller the TE from Arizona State isn't on your mock draft at all. I think he would be a great pick for Carolina who desperately need a good TE.

Lou: Carolina hasn't had much luck at tight end in recent years. Between Freddie Jones' abrupt retirement in August 2005 to Mike Seidman tearing his ACL on September 24, it has been a weak spot for the Panthers. But the team also has need at safety, and as always with the draft, you have to expect the unexpected as you move further and further away from the #1 overall pick.

At this point I think Zach Miller is a borderline first rounder, though I think he'll slip into the second round if he comes out early. There are some good blocking tight ends that will be solid mid-round picks, such as Miami's Greg Olsen, Martrez Milner from Georgia, and Matt Spaeth of Minnesota. Spaeth is one of my favorite players in the Big Ten, but he's a blocker. There's not a Vernon Davis type with freakish size and speed combined in this draft.

The knock on Miller had been injuries, but he's been healthy so far this year. But his numbers haven't exactly been gaudy, and at this point I think he's more likely to fall into the second round than to go in round one.

Martrez Milner from Georgia is another TE who I really like. He's a few inches shorter (at 6'4") and a few pounds lighter than some of the bruising TEs on the list (i.e. Oregon State's Joe Newton, Rutgers' Clark Harris), but he has more speed than those guys, which would be helpful for any team looking to open up their offense at the tight end spot.

This is a roundabout way of saying that while Carolina very well might take Zach Miller in round one, they could also just as easily pick a corner or safety or O-lineman in round one and get a value pick tight end in rounds two or three.
