Subject: Mock Draft

Do you even look at the teams rosters before you predict there picks. For instance as a Broncos fan I was in awe that anyone would be dumb enough to have the Broncos selecting a LB. We have one of the top LBs corps in the NFL and with holes at S, WR, and DL, why would we pick another one. Eric Winston maybe, DeMeco Ryans only if the entire coaching staff and front office is on LCD at the time of the draft. Draft King my ass.

Seriously though, some teams pick the best available player, regardless of who they have on their roster. Look at recent examples: Cincinnati with Chris Perry, Detroit with Mike Williams, Jacksonville with Matt Jones, etc. Some picks come out of left field.

Subject: Broncos draft

First off I enjoy the site, but I have to ask you about your choices for the Broncos draft pick, although I don't agree that the Broncos will pick a tackle in the first round I won't completely discount it. However your pick of a linebacker at 29 just doesn't make sense to me, they've got Gold, Wilson and Williams already starting, all of them are fairly young and they've all got long term contracts that won't obliterate the cap anytime soon. To me it would be a major surprise if the Broncos don't draft a defensive end with one of their two first round picks, especially if Kiwi is still around. They also need some depth at defensive tackle and safety so these are also possibilities. I also wouldn't be shocked if they jumped all over LenDale White if he somehow lasts until 22. I'm interested in reading your thoughts, thanks again and keep up the good work!

Lou: If the Broncos lose Matt Lepsis to free agency, they'll need a new offensive tackle desperately. Even if not, it wouldn't hurt to add depth. As for LenDale White to the Broncos at #22... it would be a "surprise" but not unreasonable.
