I just wanted to give you a head's up in your last draft you have the Redskin's picking ahead of the Broncos. As a part of the trade that sent Lelie to the Falcons the Broncos swap first rounders with the Redskins if they have a worse record.
Unless the Broncos would then trade down it would be hard for the Redskins to pick ahead of the Broncos.
I love your site by the way. Keep up the great work! O.Young

Lou: For what it's worth, I read all of the e-mails that come in regarding this site. They're always appreciated.

Here's what I found on the subject from the Washington Post: "The teams could swap first-round picks in 2007; swap first-rounders with the Broncos getting an additional fourth-round pick in 2008; swap first-rounders with Denver getting a third-round pick in 2007; or swap first-round picks with Denver getting a third-round selection in 2007 and a fourth-round pick in 2008."

The option to trade first round picks is fairly common in trades made in the NBA (i.e. the Knicks/Bulls trade that gives the Bulls the option of receiving the Knicks' first round pick in the 2007 NBA Draft), but in the NFL it's unusual. I'm not sure how the determination on which scenario will take place will be made, but in all of them the Broncos have the option to move up in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. And after seeing Denver beat New England at Foxboro last night, it seems to be a distinct possibility that Denver will be in a position to swap spots with Washington.
